Costa Rica News – Well for all of you living up in the mountains or along Lake Arenal it has not been your imagination those wind gusts have been quite strong. Look at the bright side though, it could mean great windsurfing on Lake Arenal this weekend.
The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) reported that there are wind gusts reaching 70 km/h that are affecting Costa Rica, including some parts of the Central Valley and the North Pacific.
This condition is due to an increase in atmospheric pressure over the Caribbean Sea and is expected to continue that pattern today and will extend into the next two days.
The intensities will vary between 40 and 80 km / h, but be warned that larger bursts can be recorded in the mountainous areas.
The IMN take steps recommended due to windy conditions that are occurring. They are giving caution to the aviation industry for the turbulence generated by the strong wind.
