Costa Rica News – San Jose is seeking to attract many technology companies by constructing a new business park.
The Municipality of San Jose is behind this drive for new business in the capital.
The new technology park will be located on a plot south of the municipal building. The mayor, Johnny Araya, presented the project on Wednesday. He explained that in addition to businesses there would be two universities, the National Technical University and the Technological Institute.
He also presented the creation of an agency, the Agency for Local Economic Development, entirely devoted to promoting the attraction of companies to San Jose, especially from the technology sector.
The companies to be located in the park have not yet been defined.
The land where the initiative will be developed is 18,000 square meters and the usage is pending approval of a bill in Congress.
It was previously going to be used to build a cemetery.
