Costa Rica News – The crafts market is on Street 13a in downtown San Jose, which is supposed to be a public street.
There is an idea to return this street to the people by kicking out the artisans.
The street has been a craft market for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never heard anyone complain about wanting the street to be empty. There are plenty of other clear streets to use so I’m not sure what this is all about.
In a normal world, neither the Legislative Assembly nor the President should have any interest in or say in the matter, as it is a street belonging to the local Municipality and not a National Road.
Nonetheless, they are involved now and a new location is waiting for the artisans to move to.
A spokesman for the artisans explained that they prefer to reconcile the issue locally, with the Town Hall.
