Israeli Danny Appleboin had a dream to create a space in Costa Rica where you can have many adventures without having to travel from one to the other. He created a paradise on the land he bought. One can enjoy cabins, thermal pools, cold pools, a restaurant, spa, Turkish sauna, butterfly farm, frog farm, volcanic mud fountain, hummingbird observatory, koi and tilapia fish ponds, bird lake, orchid garden, horseback riding, safari, canopy, tubing, and more.
That’s all in addition to the main attraction, if you can believe it. The property is home to Dinopark, inspired by the legend that a dinosaur bone was found in the Rincon de la Vieja. Animated dinosaur robots were shipped here from China three years ago and the park started to take shape. The T-Rex is the most impressive, at four meters high and 6,000 kilos.
A tour guide takes groups through the attractions and signs warn “Do not leave your group, they can eat you.” There are 27 moving dinosaurs with special effects. The guide tells the story of the dinosaurs as you pass them.
The fee for adults is $55 and kids under 12 are $45. This includes entrance to the Dinopark, lunch, visit to the butterfly garden and frog farm, natural sauna, mud treatment and the use of the pools. Reservations can be made at 8817-2872.
