WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular application for communicating in Costa Rica. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t use it daily. WhatsApp is always improving and adding new functions and features.
Soon we will be able to speed up audio messages, something that many people will make use of. No one likes to waste time listening to rambling. Wouldn’t it be nice to hear it at 1.5 or 2 times the normal speed without distorted audio? Soon this will be a dream come true. The options will be seen after pressing the play button.
Another option coming soon is greater privacy, via “Temporary Messages.” There will be an option to automatically delete both individual and group messages after 7 days. This will be available on phones and the web version used from a computer.
There will be a few limitations, namely that group administrators could turn off the ability to auto delete after 7 days, leaving only the administrators with that option. Another limitation is that some users automatically download media that comes to them via WhatsApp. If that happens, they will have a copy on their phone even though the original message is deleted after seven days.
To change automatic download and/or Temporary Messages settings go to Settings and then Storage and Data. To use Temporary Messages with only certain groups or contacts, choose this option after tapping on the name of the group or contact.
