Costa Rica News – Are you jealous of all those leaving the city to hit the beach as is the tradition on Holy Week?
The kids have vacation and maybe you do too but there is a limited budget. That doesn’t mean you have to stay home.
The Costa Rican Tourism Institute has made some suggestions to Ticos, noting nearby options that are free or low cost.
Among them are the Ujarras Ruins, the Orosi lookout and the Charrara Pura Vida.
If it’s specifically the beach your heart is set on, a good option is Playas de Dona Ana in Puntarenas. Tourists will find play areas, ranchos and green areas. Another beach getaway would be any of the south Pacific beaches that were affected by Hurricane Otto. Your visit would help revive the economy.
Staying in the city but doing day trips to local museums is another Semana Santa favorite. The Ministry of Culture and Youth informed us that three museums will remain open, Finca 6, the Calderon Guardia Museum and the Juan Santamaria Museum.
Today April 11th, there will be activities for the anniversary of the Battle of Rivas in the museum in Alajuela.
