Costa Rica Sports – WBC flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez moved his training camp from Managua, Nicaragua to San Jose, Costa Rica, to continue preparation for his fight against challenger, McWilliams Arroyo, on April 23th at the Forum in Los Angeles, California.
“This is a great opportunity for Arroyo. I think he should be champion after the close fight he had with Amnat Ruenroeng. I know how well prepared he will be for this fight, this is a great test for me, this is why I´m training in Costa Rica, because I can have better sparring partners and the location allows me to focus total concentration for training,” he commented, adding: “I am very excited to return to Los Angeles Forum.
“This is what I always wanted for my career, namely fighting in the same arena where my idol Alexis Arguello fought. So this means so much to me … Alexis won the 4 fights he had in this place. “
Concentrating on his next title defense, Román is not anticipating future plans like a possible rematch with “Gallo” Estrada. However, he likes the notion, because he knows it’s what the fans really want.
