Costa Rica News- This past week Costa Rica’s Turrialba Volcano had an eruption that was the biggest in over 150 years. The ash from the volacno landing in places up to 50 km from the volcano.
In the aftermath of the eruption Costa Rica has issued an emergency alert.
The Turrialba volcano has not spewed lava since the 1800s so because of this latest eruption there are concerns that this could be a precursor to larger eruptions.
In July of last year the volcano also showed an increase in activity.
