Costa Rica News – You know the iPhone that was released on September 19th? Yeah, the iPhone 6-the one that seems to break in people’s pockets all too often. It’s available to Costa Ricans in select stores and websites.
The reviews seem quite negative, but if you have 655,000 colones (about $1,235) and really want it, you can get your hands on it. In the US the same product is going for between $199 and $499 with a plan or about $700 to $800 without a plan on Ebay.
Check out the Apple Site Here.
So not only can you get the iPhone with multiple problems you can pay over double for it. I looked online and I can get a round trip flight from Miami to San Jose in October for $437. So I could get a flight and a new iPhone for less than what Costa Rican stores are currently charging.
One store owner complained that many people were calling to ask if there is a warranty in case they bend it. He said the calls are slowing sales.
Some stores are hoping to speed up sales by offering lower prices if you pay in cash. Mercadolibre.com is selling the model for $1,000.
It’s not yet available at the main telecommunication companies, like ICE, Movistar and Claro, but it should be available in November or December, just in time for the holidays.
