Costa Rica News – An Employment Outlook Survey was published by Manpower Tuesday. It showed that domestic Costa Rican employers plan to hire more staff between April and June of this year, especially in the communications and transportation fields.
Transport and communications sectors have a 21% employment prospect and this is followed by construction, with 18%, and trade, with 10%. The service sector stands out, possibly due to the increase in general tourism and health tourism.
The private sector part of the study shows 23% or employers expect to hire staff. 6% plan to make layoffs and 71% will keep payroll unchanged.
Compared to the first quarter of this year, the new hires figures are reduced by two percentage points.

When looking at the results by size of company, we see:
38% of large companies have plans to hire
22% of small and medium ones
And 14% of micro ones
622 enterprises were surveyed.
