Costa Rica News – Costa Rica’s Volcano Turrialba has been quite active over the past weeks, including an eruption Friday that spewed ash in the air over 3 km high.
Experts predict that this is just the beginning and that larger eruptions are expected.
“It seems to me to be the strongest [Turrialba] eruption in the past six years,” volcanologist Gino Gonzalez told AFP. He added that the wind was blowing the smoke and ash westward, toward the most populated areas of the country.
Flights were delayed from entering the San Jose airport due to the ash in the air.
Is this just a small view into something bigger that is about to come? Only time will tell.
