The Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that this responds to the results of previous donations. It shows that the Ministry of Public Security and the police forces have proven to put it to good use.
The contribution corresponds to part of the funds for International Operations of the Department of State, in the budget ratified by President Donald Trump. The Government of Carlos Alvarado thanked the US ambassador in Costa Rica for her commitment to our country.
Last year, the U.S. donated financially as well as providing three armored vehicles to Costa Rica. They are used in high-risk areas. It also donated four helicopters and three patrol boats.
