Costa Rica News – In a tragic accident, a tourist has died in Costa Rica. This happened in Isla del Coco, by a shark attack.
We know that this person was a female American tourist, but her identity has not been disclosed.
It seems she was participating with a group of tourists in a diving session organized by a private company. A shark attacked her as well as a man who sustained leg injuries but is in stable condition.
The report of the death has been confirmed by the National Coast Guard Service of the Ministry of Public Security, based on preliminary data.
They say the boat of the private company that organized the trip to this island in the Costa Rican Pacific has set sail with the body of the woman as well as the wounded man at 2:30 pm yesterday.
The island is 523 kilometers from the coast of Puntarenas and the trip takes 36 hours by sea.
The boat will arrive tonight and the body will be removed by the Judicial Investigation Agency.
