Costa Rica Arts & Theater – The Costa Rican group Tres Hermanos wanted to start an adventure that would ultimately unite dancers from all across the region. The dream started with Jose Andres, Diego and Mauricio Alvarez Sanou, contemporary dancers.
They’ve traveled to El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua to give classes and perform a show in which a story of people recognizing each other through movement is presented. The show is called “No Yo Tú.”
Jose Andres Alvarez explained that they are seeking to “build a Central American identity through dance.” They started in El Salvador, where contemporary dance is not well known but it was well received.
This weekend marks your chance to see the choreography, as they’ll be in Costa Rica from the 19-21.
They will host a class, in addition to the presentation. They plan to travel with a new piece next year, including a stop in Guatemala and an expansion to other countries in the region.
This weekend’s show will be held at Grafica Genesiswhich is located De los Mercaditos de Plaza Viquez, 200m Este y 50m Norte in San José.
On the 19th and 20th it will be at 8 pm.
