Costa Rica News – Uber started operating in Costa Rica without notice on August 21 and has really taken off, much to the despair of the Public Transport Council. Nonetheless, the company is expanding.
They will open a center of excellence for Latin America which is to be based in Costa Rica, in the free trade zone.
They will hire 25 people in early February and another 25 per week until reaching a staff of 300 this year.
Uber is investing $3.5 million in the first year alone, including rent, infrastructure, equipment and staff.
The company chose Costa Rica for its reputation for high quality human resources and its Foreign Direct Investment experience.
