In a heartbreaking incident, Dylana Arce Ramírez, a young mother of two, merely 22 years old and sporting braces, was tragically killed in Costa Rica. She was looking forward to a bright future with her partner and their two young children.
A Family’s Dream Cut Short
On a fateful Sunday night, Dylana and her partner, Josué Jiménez Méndez, ventured out to inspect a house they intended to rent, a significant step towards their goal of independence. While walking to a relative’s home to fetch their children after viewing the house, their lives took a tragic turn.
Unexpected Attack Leaves Community in Shock
As they strolled, two men on a motorcycle approached and opened fire on the couple. Josué was hit in the left arm, while Dylana was struck in the head. Additional bullets damaged a nearby vehicle and house.
Initially, neighbors mistook the gunfire for fireworks from the celebration in honor of San Isidro Labrador. However, when they heard Josué’s cries for help for his injured partner, the grim reality set in.
Immediate Response and A Tragic Outcome
Upon receiving the distress call, 911 dispatched the Fuerza Publica and Red Cross immediately. Despite their prompt response and efforts to transfer Dylana to a medical facility, she sadly succumbed to her injuries in the ambulance. Josué was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The Hunt for Motives and Justice
With nothing stolen from the couple, the motive for this senseless attack remains unclear. The Judicial Police are now tasked with unraveling the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
