Costa Rica News – Pay TV operator Tigo Star (Millicom) announced the launch of its TV Everywhere service Tigo Play in Costa Rica.
The platform includes movies, sports and series. It is available through PCs and mobile devices.
According to information from its website, the service includes content from Fox Play, HBO GO, ESPN Play, Sony, AXN, Cinemax GO, Lifetime Play, A&E Play and Discovery Kids Play.
The content that customers can access will depend on the package that they have subscribed to. Tigo says this does not apply to customers of the satellite TV service.
The company recommends a minimum speed of 5 Mbps to watch videos without interruption.
This initiative is part of Tigo’s strategy to complement its TV service with video streaming platforms. Last June the company announced new plans with free access to Netflix for three months, as part of the agreement signed with the American OTT service.
