Costa Rica News – A married Tico-American couple is on high alert facing the arrival of Hurricane Florence, in their home city of Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Carolina Coto Chinchilla and Jeffery W. Welter are carefully watching the forecasts.
Although Charlotte is away from the coast, they are urged to take precautions such as securing anything outside that could turn into a damage-causing projectile. They have not been evacuated.
The winds and rain have already been felt starting Thursday. The winds are entering the Carolinas at 160 kilometers per hour. Even things inside could potentially be moved by the wind.
Coto, a native of Cachí, Paraíso, Cartago, has lived in North Carolina for 10 years. She still has her Costa Rican roots, however. She believes the “Virgencita de los Ángeles” will protect them.
