As the holiday season approaches, Costa Rica’s fashion scene is set to shimmer with the festive edition of The Trunk Show. This exclusive fashion platform, known for showcasing an exquisite blend of local and international design talents, is gearing up for its holiday spectacle from December 15 to 17 at the luxurious Real Intercontinental Hotel.
Following the resounding success of its mid-year debut, The Trunk Show has become the talk of the town. The brainchild of renowned Costa Rican designers Nicole Madriz, Carolina Orduz, and Paola Lizano, the show has captured the imagination of the fashion-forward community in Costa Rica.
This year’s edition, running daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., is not just a shopping extravaganza but a free educational bonanza as well. Nicole Madriz, one of the founding designers, explains, “This project emerged from the need to cater to an increasingly informed consumer base and as a strategy to boost the business framework of the participating brands.”
Carolina Orduz, another founder and creative director at ETN Design, emphasizes the meticulous curation process behind the selection of participating brands. “We looked for brands with a distinct DNA, a unique proposition, and potential for internationalization,” she states.
The Trunk Show is poised to feature an array of distinguished brands including Paola Lizano, ETN Design, Selfmade, Vélez, Bahue, Eme & Jota, Sulara, and Kukara. Additionally, visitors can discover products from Vyshiauskas, Albedrio, Espuma de Mar, Nerea, María Dolores, Gal vs Buck, Maktub, and Dayana Kaver.
Free Knowledge for All
In its commitment to democratizing fashion knowledge, The Trunk Show will host free workshops and talks. For instance, Paola Lizano and Carolina Orduz are set to present “How to style,” a session brimming with styling tips and ideas, scheduled for Saturday, December 16, at 3:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Nicole Madriz will delve into the sustainable practice of dyeing garments with flowers, a technique synonymous with her brand Selfmade. This workshop is set for December 17 at 4:30 p.m.
“We aim to offer a holistic experience where shopping and entertainment offer added value. It’s crucial for us that The Trunk Show serves as a platform for both business and knowledge exchange,” explains Paola Lizano, founder of her eponymous brand.
Both workshops will take place in the Laureles III room, while the exhibition and sale of fashion pieces will be held in the Cedros halls.
Ricardo Menéndez, General Manager of the Real Intercontinental, expressed his excitement, “We are thrilled to host this talented platform, aligning perfectly with our vision of The Place To Be. We anticipate a successful event.”
