After a year without “The Nutcracker” thanks to Covid-19, the magic and fantasy return to the stage. There are four more chances to see it, between Saturday, December 11, and Sunday, December 12.
The famous ballet is taking place at the Teatro Popular Melico Salazar for its 14th year in the country. The tradition brings joy, hope, and optimism. We’ve seen some of the dancers grow up and those in charge outdo themselves year after year.
The story takes place on Christmas night. A nutcracker, given to a little girl, comes to life and defeats the Mouse King. Then he takes the little girl to a magical kingdom populated by dolls.
The director of the show explained that he feels the montage is a gift to the country. He said that “dancing is about communicating, about loving, about beauty, about all the great things that make us happy.”
