Costa Rica News – For all of those that have a desire to feed their curious side and a little desire to see something a little bit morbid, then this exhibition is for you. Do you want to know what it looks like inside the human body? “Our Body”, an international exhibition that is touring in Costa Rica. It shows human bodies, how they look, how the organs are arranges, as well as the muscles and bones inside the body.
The exhibition opened yesterday in Multiplaza Escazú with six rooms housing 16 “complete” bodies and parts of 150 other bodies. All bodies are preserved with a modern technique which, unlike formaldehyde, produces no odor and facilitates public exposure.
Thus, visitors explore each of the rooms dedicated to a different system: the respiratory, nervous, urinary and reproductive, cardiac, skeletal and muscular .
The exhibition is open to the public and the main purpose, according to its organizers, is to educate. However, real human bodies could be shocking for young children.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 9 pm and tickets are priced at ¢ 5,500 and ¢ 6,500 weekends. Are purchased at the box office on site or online at specialticket.net.
