Costa Rica News – Almost all of you will likely be heading to one of Costa Rica’s lovely beaches to spend the holidays.
The whole city pretty much shuts down since everyone is off from work and acting as tourists to ring in the new year.
The authorities are aware of this and have put out a special warning, knowing that there are some dangers to watch out for at various beaches throughout the country. The main advice is to be extremely careful regarding waves.
The National Emergency Commission and data from the University of Costa Rica have warned that on the Caribbean there will be waves up to 3.3 meters high. There will also be especially high tides. Travel in small boats and swimming, if necessary, must be done with extreme care.
Puntarenas and the North and South Pacific will also have high waves. Flooding is a possibility in areas including Cieneguita especially during mornings with high tide.
The North Pacific will see high winds that could cause navigation trouble.
