Costa Rica Surfing – (Surf Report September 8th & September 9th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have Costa Rica surf pics. There are going to be fun sets on the Pacific side & overhead sets Friday and small sets Saturday on Caribbean side of Costa Rica. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: A blend of shorter period S/SSW swell and longer period SSW swell should be good for mainly waist to chest high surf with shoulder to even head high sets/peaks for standouts. Note – expect mixed/broken up shape due to the combination/periods of swells.
WEATHER/WIND: Light/variable winds early, trending onshore through the mornings. Light to moderate onshore flow each afternoon from the S/SW. Note – local thunderstorms are possible and will temporarily affect wind.
Friday 09/08 – 3-4ft+ waist to shoulder high occ. 5ft – Mainly short period S/SW swell, with well secondary, long period SSW swell mixing in.
Saturday 09/09 – 3-5ft – waist to head high – Longer period S-SSW swell builds. Shorter period S/SW swell continues to mix in.

Friday 09/08 – 9-11ft+ 3ft overhead to double overhead + – Small long period swell from the east-northeast falling later in the day. Light and variable west-southwest winds all day and switching to the east.
Saturday 09/09 – 2-3ft – Ankle to waist – Very Small mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable south-southwest winds all day and switching to the east.
