Costa Rica Surfing – (Surf Report September 15th & September 16th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have Costa Rica surf pics. There are going to be fun sets to occasional overhead sets on the Pacific side & the Caribbean side of Costa Rica will be flat. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: Leftover SSW swell mixes with shorter period S swell to end the work week. Look for most size on Thursday with surf running head high to well overhead. Standouts likely show a few double overhead sets during favored tides. Friday sees mainly chest/shoulder to head high surf with good exposures still showing overhead sets.
WEATHER/WIND: Light/variable flow to light+ onshore flow in the mornings, followed by moderate to locally breezy onshore flow in the afternoons. Note – local thunderstorms are possible and will temporarily affect wind.
Friday 09/15 – 4-6ft – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead occ. 7ft – Short to mid period Southerly swell mixes with leftover SSW swell. Light AM onshore winds increase in PM.
Saturday 09/16 – 4-5ft – shoulder to head high occ. 6ft – Short to mid period Southerly swell mix. Light AM onshore winds increase in PM.

Trace short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the next few days. Light and variable south winds until Saturday and switching to the east-northeast. Very Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the early part of next week. Light and variable south winds later and switching to the east-southeast.
Friday 09/15 – 1-2ft – Ankle to knee – Very Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable southwest winds all day and switching to the east-northeast
Saturday 09/16 – 0-1ft – Flat – Very Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable west-southwest winds all day and switching to the east-northeast.
