Costa Rica News – (Surf Report October 22nd & 23rd) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have Costa Rica surf pics. There are going to fun sets rolling on the Pacific side but you are not going to want to head to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica unless you are just going for a swim, it is going to be flat. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: S swell builds in through Thursday, with a holding to slow fading trend on Friday. Look for many exposed breaks to see head high surf, while good breaks push into the overhead range and standout spots are occasionally better (up to a couple feet overhead on sets).
WEATHER/WIND: Light/variable wind in the morning for Thur/Fri, trending to light-moderate scale SW-WSW in the afternoons. Thunderstorms are possible/likely and keep in mind that passing or nearby showers and thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Friday 10/22 – 4-6ft – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead – S/SW swell mix likely continues.
Saturday 10/23 – 3-5ft – waist to head high occ. 6ft – S/SW swell mix slowly starts to come down.

Trace long period swell from the northeast rising slightly later in the next few days. Light and variable south winds until Saturday and switching to the north-northwest. Very Small long period swell from the north-northwest holding during the early part of next week. Light west winds and switching to the north.
Friday 10/22- 0-1ft – Flat – Very Small mid period swell from the northeast holding during the day. Light and variable west-southwest winds all day and switching to the north-northwest.
Saturday 10/23 – 1-2ft – Ankle to knee – Very Small short period wind waves from the west-northwest holding during the day. Light west winds with a slight chop all day.
