This is going to be a decent weekend on the Pacific side of Costa Rica but the Caribbean is going to be huge this New Year’s weekend with double overhead sets rolling in. North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: SSW swell fades very slowly offering plenty of chest-shoulder+ surf through Friday. Top breaks may see occasional larger sets to head high.
WEATHER/WIND: Light-Variable winds provide cleanest conditions in the AM. Afternoon sea breezes kick in from the SW by late morning and continue through the late afternoon. A sunset glass-off session might be possible.
Friday 01/01 – 3-5ft – waist to head high – S swell likely continues.
Saturday 01/02 – 3-4ft+ waist to shoulder high – S swell trends down.

Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast rising later in the next few days. Light and variable southwest winds and switching to the northwest. Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast falling later in the early part of next week. Light and variable west-southwest winds later and switching to the northwest.
Friday 01/01– 11-12ft+ 3ft overhead to double overhead + Large mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable west-southwest winds and switching to the northwest.
Saturday 01/02 – 10-11ft+ 3ft overhead to double overhead + Large mid period swell from the east-northeast falling slightly during the day. Light and variable west-southwest winds all day and switching to the north.
