This weekend is a small to medium on the Pacific sideand on the Caribbean side it is pumping overhead in some sets. There are always great waves to be caught on both coasts of Costa Rica even on small to medium days. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica. North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: SW swell peaks with waist-shoulder-head high zone surf at the better breaks.
WEATHER/WIND: For most areas, expect light/variable to locally light offshore wind in the early mornings, with a light+ to moderate onshore West-SW’erly seabreeze gradually developing over the mid to late morning hours and into the afternoons. Possible evening glassoff for some areas before dark. Skies will be partly cloudy/sunny for most locations as well. NOTE – Passing or nearby showers and thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Friday 01/17 – 0.9-1.2m+ waist to shoulder high occ. 1.5m – SW swell peaks
Saturday 01/18– 0.9-1.2m+ waist to shoulder high occ. 1.5m – Continued SW swell

Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast falling slightly during the next few days. Light and variable north winds until Saturday and switching to the north-northeast. Small mid period swell from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the early part of next week. Light and variable northwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the northeast.
Friday 01/17 – 1.5-1.8m – Head high to 0.3m overhead – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable west-northwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the north-northeast.
