This weekend have some fun size waves on the Pacific side & on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica over the weekend. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: Modest/fun size blend of SSW swells and NW swell. Surf is running waist-chest-shoulder high for most well exposed spots. Standouts hit head high on sets.
WEATHER/WIND: Variable to locally light offshore wind for the early to mid mornings for most areas, before a light+ onshore SSW sea-breeze gradually develops into each afternoon. Most of the region will see partly cloudy/sunny skies each day. However, there is still a chance for occasional passing thunderstorms/showers.
Friday 02/20 – 0.9-1.2m – waist to chest high occ. 1.5m – New SSW swell starts to build as older SSW swell eases. NW swell continues but is easing.
Saturday 02/21 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead – More SSW swell fills in.

Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast falling slightly during the next few days. Breezy north-northeast winds, whitecapping conditions with moderate choppy seas. Moderate short period wind waves from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the early part of next week. Light east winds with a slight chop later.
