Costa Rica Travel News – This past week there was a 3 day sale that probably generated a lot of capital for low cost airline Southwest.
They are starting their direct flights from Houston Hobby in October and I had to see what price I could get a flight home for before the holidays.
I missed the sale but still checked the flight costs as I know that Southwest usually has some good fares.
So I went to the website to check out what I could find.
So I put it in, SJO (San Jose’s Juan Santamaria Airport) to HOU (Houston Hobby), November 6th to 13th and October 16th to 23rd.
The fares came up and I was amazed….. total for the round trip was $274.98. This included 2 checked bags.
It cost me over $100 to ship my Playstation 3 down via Aerocasillas. What better way to get all my Christmas gifts down to Costa Rica than paying only $175 more than shipping a video game console to visit my family and bring down some more Texas BBQ sauce?
This was not the only low fare I checked out, round trip to Newark in November was only $390 and some change.
Low cost flights are going to hopefully be the norm for Costa Rica and it is going to lead more tourism and more money for the country.
