Costa Rica News – A group of very lucky ICT employees earn significantly more than the executive president of the organization. How can it be that he makes ¢2.7 million a month while they receive up to ¢5.9 million?
The average salary in the ICT is ¢1.8 million per month, with a base salary of ¢958,000. A department head might officially have this base salary but will likely receive quadruple it thanks to bonuses, whereas the executive president has a set salary without bonuses.
The bonuses and incentives can look like this: ¢2.5 million for years of service, ¢526,000 for exclusive dedication and ¢126,000 per professional studies. All things considered, a tourism executive can earn ¢3.5 million and a department head ¢4.9 million.
The group of 53 employees who make more than their boss, together make the equivalent of 20% of the return. Each makes more than any minister of state.
The entity is not part of the Central Government rather makes its budget from a 5% tax on international trips and the entrance tax on tourists.
