The Deputy Nidia Céspedes wants to silence young people regarding their sexual orientation. She seems to believe that allowing them freedom is indoctrinating them and that if we restrict their freedom it will keep them from being who they are.
She proposed to change the wording of a bill that says “young people have the right to freely choose and express their sexual orientation and gender identity” to say that young people DO NOT have this right.
She also wants to take out the part about “for reasons of orientation and/or gender identity” from the phrase about how the State “will undertake to prevent and punish all forms of discrimination against young people for reasons of orientation and/or gender identity.”
Lastly, she wants to eliminate the phrase about the State promoting “education and awareness programs for young people regarding sexual orientation and identity.”
She knows these motions will never carry but submitted them to draw media attention and buy time to make an argument.
