Costa Rica News – Artists are going to paint on sidewalks to draw attention to the care of certain urban spaces.
The two public sites to undergo this intervention are in Paseo Colón and Sabana Oeste.
These spots, specifically, were chosen because they present ideal conditions for citizens. Many people travel these particular areas and the streets meet requirements for users, such as signposted corners, adaptations for blind people and a size suitable for those who use wheelchairs.
Maintaining good sidewalks is essential. Not only to they greatly affect the aesthetics of a city, but also provide much needed pedestrian traffic safety.
In some areas this is the responsibility of the municipality and in other areas the homeowners.
Today the artistic intervention will take place, opposite Purdy Motor and opposite Canal 7. The artists in charge of the embellishment of these spaces are Arianne Farnier and Elizabeth Argüello.
They will try to raise awareness among passersby about the importance of caring for sidewalks.
