Costa Rica News – I guess the shark finners off the coasts of Costa Rica have not managed to kill off all of the beautiful creatures. A recent video that was shot in Costa Rica is creating a stir on the Internet. It shows a sharks swimming very close to the shore off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
Mario Chacon uploaded the video taken by his friend. It was supposedly wasvideo’d between Playa Avellanas and Playa Langosta in Northern Costa Rica.
José Miguel Gutiérrez who is a member of the Costa Rica Coast Guard stated that off the shores of these beaches is an area they call “the Wreck”. It receiced this name because of the fact that there are several sunken boats on the ocean shore in these waters.
The Coast Guard member said that there is very little danger because it is very uncommon for people to swim in these areas.
“It’s mostly an area where people go for fishing and access to the area is quite complicated,” said the official.
Access to the area where the sharks were filmed is only on foot. Those who come across the “Wreck” are usually vacationers that happen to stumble upon the area walking from another beach.
There are no warnings issued or complaints about the sharks since no one has been attacked but Easter vacationers are cautioned to keep alert in this area.
