Costa Rica News – You are invited, by 35 heart-shaped sculptures, to take care of your heart health.
Various artists donated their work and a private company contributed financially to acquire some statues.
The works can be seen in Multiplaza shopping centers in San Jose, Alajuela, Cartago and Heredia from June 1 to September to remind Costa Ricans of the importance of good cardiovascular health.
Heart disease grows worse as the days go by and it has been attacking people who are young and even those in shape.
The initiative is supported by the Ministries of Culture, Youth and Health as well as the Municipality of San Jose.
The sculptures will be auctioned off and the money raised will go to a trust fund made to finance heart operations for patients who can’t afford them.
To raise additional funds, there will be a golf tournament, gala dinner and donations campaign.
