Costa Rica Sports News – First, Roy Miller was called up to the Costa Rica squad for the Copa Centroamericana. Then, he would only go if they made the final. Then, there was some confusion about whether it was the final or the final round.
But none of that matters now, since Los Ticos are in the final and Miller has been added to the roster. He’ll depart after tomorrow night’s game against D.C. United.
Costa Rica finished with four points in the three team Group B, downing Nicaragua 3-0 and drawing Panama 2-2, securing them the top spot in the group and a place in the final.
Who they’ll face depends on the results of tomorrow’s matches. Guatemala is in the driver’s seat in the four team Group A with six points, followed by Honduras with three. The two will face off at 10 p.m. in Houston.
As for the New York Red Bulls, Ambroise Oyongo could be back by the time the weekend and Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Union rolls around. That seems the most likely outcome, as the New York Cosmos haven’t been contacted about recalling Connor Lade from his loan.
Of course, that could all happen pretty quickly — after all he could be in Jersey within hours if needed — but if he hasn’t been recalled by now, 18 player practices be damned, he probably isn’t going to be.
