Costa Rica News – Bicycle rental will facilitate mobility through San José.
The municipality of the capital is studying proposals that complement the bike route already created and ever being improved.
The cycle route runs from Montes de Oca to La Sabana. It is intended to standardize the use of bikes as an alternative means of mobility in the crowded city known for impossible traffic.
One of the initiatives underway is the rental of bikes. This way, people don’t need to worry about buying and storing a bike. It becomes much more convenient. A similar automated rental system is already in place in Cartago.
At least four companies handling this type of system have submitted proposals in San José. We may see this service sooner than we thought. There could be stations all over the city and the idea is that for approximately the same cost as a bus or train ride, one can rent a bike for an hour and return it in any station.
