Costa Rica Entertainment – Kids now say “Ma, I want a Pipo’s.” Pipo’s Dog is a hot dog empire that began as a tragic story and ended up becoming famous.
Out of necessity and fear of death by guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, a family was forced to flee Colombia.
They ended up in Panama and then Costa Rica. The family provider got into the coffee business and that went well until the coffee crisis. For the second time in their lives, the family had to completely start over.
His son, studying marketing, realized there were no hotdog stands here as there were in Columbia. Surely it would be a hit. And it was. They sold hotdogs 22 cm long with toppings.
They started selling in the amusement park, Multiplaza Escazú, Hipermás and even concerts. Multinational companies were offered the idea of eating hot dogs once a week or once a month. 4,200 hot dogs were sold in one day at the Carlos Vives concert. Now the company is even selling franchises.
