The covid-19 pandemic changed so much. While it caused so much tragedy, it also led to some positive changes in society. We all wash our hands correctly and more frequently now! Telecommuting has become the norm, saving us time by not commuting to an office, and giving us more time to enjoy our homes and those we live with. For some, this caused loneliness. Many chose to get a pet or two. Those who already had pets have become closer to them.
Spending more time with pets has led so many to see them as life companions or additional family members and involve them in more of daily life, talk to them more, and play with them more.
We’ve even come to see how emotional pets are. They show joy and sadness. They respond to our emotions. They somehow know when we need some extra kisses and cuddles. Our empathetic bonds with pets have increased greatly. They lift our self-esteem and make us feel safe and accompanied. They appreciate how we make them feel too. It’s no wonder why many are spending a ton of money on products for their pets these days.
It’s also becoming a common practice to take a pet for a walk during a lunch break. Pet friendly parks, malls, and even restaurants are popping up everywhere. Soon, a place that doesn’t accept pets will likely not be very successful.
