Costa Rica News – For all of you that plan on hitting the malls this Friday in Costa Rica expect very few parking places and a lot of congestion on the escalators and walkways. The various malls in the country are preparing for the visit of up to 40,000 in each mall people during the celebration of Black Friday, this Friday the 29th November.
Extended hours will be in place and most stores will be open until 1 am. There will be discounts at almost all of their businesses. This is expected to attract a multitude of customers.
Multiplaza Escazú and Curridabat, Terramall, Paseo de las Flores Mall and Lincoln Plaza are some of the malls that will take part in the Black Friday consumer festivities.
Here Are Some of the Black Friday Events Taking Place in Costa Rica
Paseo de Las Flores in Heredia is going to have a car raffle for a 2014 Renault Duster and four trips to Argentina. This will be available to all visitors who register. All you must do is show your receipt for your purchase exceeding ¢ 15,000 (about $30).
More than 150 stores will offer discounts of up to 70%.
“We will have special hours of 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Covered parking is free from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am,” said the company in a statement.
In Multiplaza Escazú and Curridabat 100% of the shops will offer discounts this Black Friday. To do this, tthese malls will offer special hours from 8 am to 12 am
If you buy things over ¢ 20,000 (about $40) you will have a chance to register for another raffle being held at these malls. Grupo Roble will be raffling off a trip for two to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“The bill must be presented at the information centers of every mall in exchange for a coupon, which must be deposited with the personal data”, assured the organizers.
Terramall Mall will have special activities for visitors until midnight.
Jorge Bonilla, mall manager, said it will be after 7 pm when shops offer great discounts.
“We expect around 25,000 people, the shops will offer discounts above 30%,” Bonilla said.
Lincoln Plaza in Moravia, keep the will offer the same discounts of above 30% for their over 150 stores.
So if you want to brave the crowds and traffic in order to get this prices I wish you the best of luck, as for my I will be on my computer for Cyber Monday and using Aerocasillas to get my Christmas presents delivered. I am going to pass on trying to go to my old stomping ground Heredia. The traffic was bad enough on a normal day I cannot even imagine what it will be like this Friday.
