Costa Rica News – I want to do some articles about my favorite places to visit in Costa Rica. Stop one on the list is Playa del Coco. Where else can you find a paradise only 40 km from a main international airport?
Beach-goers, surfers, and divers- prepare for the tropical vacation of a lifetime! It will take you just an hour to drive here from the Daniel Obduber International Airport of Liberia.
If you are a diver you will find that there are 2 schools inCocothat can help you to take either online preparatory classes or on site intensive classes before going on your explorations in small groups to see the fish, turtles, sharks, reef, stingrays, and more! Playa del Coco is home to the country’s only PADI 5 career development center.
Surfers will be happy to know that Coco is a great starting point to reach Witches Rock or Ollie’s Point, where the locals go to catch the best waves. Families with small children will prefer to stay in the horseshoe shaped bay. Playa del Coco is a great base from which to take tours or go sport fishing.
This popular beach is found alongside a large and quaint village of the Guanacaste region. You can enjoy the beautiful gray brown sand and waves during the day with no shortage of things to do at night. There are some really exceptional restaurants, casinos, shops, bars, and local flavors to partake in.
The weather of Playas del Coco is good year round with only short rain showers in the afternoons. This makes it a popular vacation spot for both Christmas and Easter week. Be prepared for crowds as well as good beach parties with new friends!
