Costa Rica News – The way that people pay taxes is about to change in a big way.
The Ministry of Finance has hired S-com to consult on the creation of the new Virtual Tax Administration (ATV) system that will launch on October 4th of this year.
The online system, which will be available all hours of every day of the year, will take the place of the EDDI-7 program that is currently being used. Individuals must register on the Ministry of Finance website.
This new system will greatly expedite the process of tax filing by making it more efficient and timesaving. ATV will collect information from the registrant and then issue a bill that the taxpayer can pay at the bank.
This new development in tax filing will be accessible to all with a computer, as it works with most major Internet browsers.
Introductory training on the new system will be given in September.
