Costa Rica News – Everyone was furious last year when the Criminal Court of Limón acquitted the seven people charged in the investigation of the death of environmentalist Jairo Mora Sandoval.
The Appeals Court of Cartago ordered a new trial to be held between January and March of 2016.
A start date of January 23rd has now been set. The court will once again hear the case against them for the killing of Jairo.
The full list of charges includes aggravated robbery, kidnaping, assault and homicide. Jairo was well known and respected for protecting turtle nests. His death occurred in front of witnesses including a Spanish tourist.
José Brayan Quesada Mora was captured by the OIJ of Pococí two months after the crime.
Others involved are Dónald and Darwin Salmón Meléndez, Ernesto Centeno Rivas, Felipe Arauz Martínez, José Brayan Quesada Cubillo, Héctor Cash López and William Delgado Loaiza.
