Costa Rica News – The National Insurance Institute (INS) is putting a new focus on finding jobs for women, youth and persons with disabilities.
The program “My First Job” is a financial incentive to private companies willing to hire, train and keep employees that meet certain characteristics.
INS has set aside ¢10,000 million for this program, with the aim of helping to fund the recruitment of 30,000 people who find it hard to gain employment for one or more reasons.
The companies that receive funding will be those who keep the workers on staff for at least one year. INS will make payments in two parts, one in 2016 and another in 2017.
The money will total 23% of the resources required for the company for this project.
The money provided from INS comes from its profits.
The majority of it is to be reinvested in the companies it goes to while a small percentage must be paid as tax to the government.
