Costa Rica News – (Surf Report September 5th and September 6th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Model of the Week. The Pacific side and the Caribbean side have overhead sets rolling in this weekend so grab your board for some big waves. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: SW swell builds for head+ to several feet+ overhead waves at exposures and better sets. Top breaks see more size.
WEATHER/WIND: Look for mainly light/variable wind in the mornings, with moderate SW to WSW wind building for the late mornings and afternoons. Some breaks may see a clean up in the evenings. Keep in mind that local storm activity can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions, as well as roads conditions (especially dirt roads) due to rainfall/flooding.
Friday 09/05 – 1.5-2.4m – head high to 3 ft overhead – Solid SW swell builds further through the day
Saturday 09/06 – 1.8-2.4m+ head high + to 3 ft overhead occ. 3.1m – SW swell peaks, larger sets at top spots

Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the next few days. Light and variable north-northwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the northeast. Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the early part of next week. Light and variable west-northwest winds later and switching to the northeast.
Friday 09/05 – 1.5-1.8m – Head high to 0.3m overhead – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable north winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the northeast.
Saturday 09/06 – 1.2-1.5m – Shoulder to head – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable northwest winds all day and switching to the northeast.
