Costa Rica News – (Surf Report September 19th and September 20th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Model of the Week. The Pacific side and the Caribbean side have fun size waves rolling in this weekend so grab your board a great time on either coast. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: Size is down slightly Friday with shoulder-head high-overhead waves on tap for good breaks. Standouts see a few lingering plus sets.
WEATHER/WIND: Light/variable to light+ SE’erly wind in the mornings (looking a bit stronger Friday) gives way to a light to moderate SW’erly sea-breeze in the afternoons. Keep in mind that local storm activity can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions, as well as roads conditions (especially dirt roads) due to rainfall/flooding.
Friday 09/19 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead – SW swell continues fading; cleanest early.
Saturday 09/20 – 0.9-1.5m – waist to head high – SW swell continues fading; cleanest early; keeping an eye on the tropics

Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast falling slightly during the next few days. Light and variable north-northeast winds with smooth seas until Saturday. Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the early part of next week. Light and variable west winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the east.
Friday 09/19 – 0.6-0.9m – Ankle to waist – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable south-southeast winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the east-northeast.
Saturday 09/20 – 0.3-0.6m – Ankle to knee – Very Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable north-northwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the north-northeast.
