Costa Rica News – (Surf Report September 12th and September 13th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Model of the Week. The Pacific side and the Caribbean side have fun size waves rolling in this weekend so grab your board a great time on either coast. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: Fun size SW groundswell is good for chest-head high+ surf at good spots. Standouts see sets RUNNING a couple feet+ overhead. Small, short period tropical swell mixes in.
WEATHER/WIND: Light/variable to light onshore wind in the morning on Thursday. Light/moderate southerly flow develops in the afternoon. Light/moderate Southerly flow due for Friday, looking lightest in the early morning. Keep in mind that local storm activity can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions, as WELL as roads conditions (especially dirt roads) due to rainfall/flooding.
Friday 09/12 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead occ. 2.4m – Continued SW swell; small short period tropical swell mixing in; winds a bit of an issue, looking cleanest early
Saturday 09/13 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead occ. 2.1m – SW swell continues; small short period tropical swell mixing in; winds a bit of an issue, looking cleanest early

Small mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the next few days. Light and variable west winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the east-northeast. Small mid period swell from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the early part of next week. Light and variable south-southwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the north.
