Costa Rica News – (Surf Report June 27th and June 28th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Model of the Week. This weekend has decent waves with an easing swell on the Pacific side & the Caribbean side has overhead sets rolling in. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica. FRIDAY: SSW swell continues with shoulder-head high surf at exposed breaks, while good breaks are up to a foot or two overhead (and standouts may even be a little better at times). Swell is strongest Thursday before easing Friday.
WEATHER/WIND: Most areas will see light/variable wind for the early mornings, before a moderate onshore S-SW seabreeze gradually develops over the mid to late morning hours and into each afternoon. NOTE – Good chance for the wind to back off into the evenings for a glassoff for some locations before dark, especially the more sheltered/tucked away spots. NOTE – Passing showers or thunderstorms due to temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Friday 06/27 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead – Slow fade in SSW swell
Saturday 06/28 – 1.2-1.5m – shoulder to head high occ. 1.8m – Older SSW swell backs down; New, long period SSW swell slowly builds with larger sets in the PM

Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast falling slightly during the next few days. Light and variable north-northwest winds, Increasing later and switching to the east-northeast. Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the early part of next week. Light and variable north-northeast winds with smooth seas, increasing rapidly later.
Friday 06/27 – 1.8-2.1m – Shoulder high to 0.5m overhead – Moderate short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable west winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the east-northeast.
Saturday 06/28 – 1.8-2.1m – Shoulder high to 0.5m overhead – Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable east-northeast winds with smooth seas, increasing rapidly later.
