Costa Rica News – A program called MenTe is offering 50 scholarships to high school girls in Costa Rica.
The program aims to open doors and create a fascination with the world of modern technology.
The girls, ages 16 and 17, chosen will meet for 12 Saturdays in the Parque La Libertad to develop Ideas in Action, apps meant to improve the world and aid in alleviating social problems.
The 50 young women will learn about programming, 3D printing, circuits, virtual reality, leadership skills and entrepreneurship.
They will benefit from being around like minded friends.
This is the third generation of the program. Valeska Mora participated in the first one and the experience led her to decide to pursue a career in engineering.
She wants to learn how to do things more efficiently and productively using technology.
