Costa Rica Entertainment – David Ulloa will present his book “Cartas a hombres,” “Letters to Men,” on Saturday, February 3, at the Woki bar in the neighborhood of La California, San José, beginning at 8pm.
The presentation is free.
This writer came out of the closet ten years ago and found his connection to the world of young gay men in literature and film. He began writing his own fictional stories but later realized his best work was based on his own story.
He wrote the nine stories that make up his book. It’s a series of stories portraying the gay youth of the Central Valley in Costa Rica. It’s not meant as activism or a political pamphlet.
It is about people being happy with what they are without the need for validation.
The stories include themes like the search for sex, comments on polyamory, and questions about masculinity. Through his book, he makes clear that we are all equal but different.
