Keylor Navas has his sights set single mindedly on Qatar 2022. The World Cup is always on the front of his mind. Although he no longer plays for Costa Rica, he was key in getting them their spot in Qatar.
His ambition, desire, and talent all point towards him playing a part in Qatar. He has been observed in practices and described as a “beast” and a “machine.”
It’s the second time he’s been a substitute, and while this might unmotivate some, it seems the adversity makes him train even harder.
He’s said on social media that he’s going through a complex time but that there are always happy times and sad times and he continues to work hard. He’s glad to have the sparring partners he does because they keep him sharp and ready in case he is called on to play in the World Cup.
As of now, he is only set to play in the warm-ups, against Nigeria and Iraq.
